Russia and Taiwan donated a helicopter and other emergency equipment to the Nicaraguan Army and the Naval Force. In the Russian case, a Mi-8MTV-1 helicopter, specially designed for firefighting, was delivered, as well as vehicles and other equipment, while the Taiwanese donation focused on maritime rescue equipment.
The military chief detailed the donated equipment: a helicopter destined for search, rescue and rescue missions; also a special equipment for extinguishing forest fires; 15 all-terrain vehicles destined to strengthen the capacities of the Civil Defense and the Humanitarian and Rescue Unit; all necessary equipment for the modernization of the Emergency Operations Center (CODE), for monitoring, follow-up and responses to disaster situations; also 20 sirens that will be installed on the Caribbean coast, to create the early warning system for risk situations for the population.
Donation from Taiwan “Likewise, with the cooperation of the people and Government of Taiwan, today we are delivering to the Naval Force 250 beacons for life jackets and 83 beacons for naval assets, which are intended for search, rescue and rescue work in complex conditions in the sea and inland waters; also 1,200 lifeguards including vests, rings and special equipment.
