The Argentine public company Invap has exported to Nigeria the first MPA-200 MC radar for air traffic control. He was transferred aboard a Hercules C-130 belonging to the Argentine Air Force (FAA).
According to official sources “it is the MPA-200 MC radar, similar to the RPA-240 with which Invap provided the FAA, a team with a system that includes a secondary radar and a 3D primary radar that is mobile.”
The radar was moved in two containers: one with the entire system, antennas and electronics; and in the second the operating cabin. Throughout its itinerary the C-130 will stop in Puerto Iguazú, Natal and Cape Verde before arriving at its destination in Abuja.
