The purchase will be financed by the Development Bank of Brazil
Oscar González, has ratified the intention to buy six Embraer A-29 Super Tucano for a total of 97 million dollars.
The purchase will be financed by Brazil’s Bandes (Development Bank), in a plan similar to the one that Uruguay would be using to buy the same number of units. In the case of Paraguay, the purchase would include weapons systems, cameras, logistical support for one year, training of pilots and maintenance technicians. Although the Paraguayan government would make the purchase through the purchase by exception route, the credit must be approved by the Paraguayan National Congress.
Embraer has eight aircraft ready to be delivered, plus another four that would be on the production line to be delivered in the short term. With the purchases from Paraguay and Uruguay, these units would already be placed in the regional market.
