Peru; The 5th. in a row Defense Minister resigns

In a letter addressed to President Pedro Castillo, Barragán cited personal reasons to justify his resignation.

Daniel Barragánhas resigned as Peru’s Minister of Defense in a letter to President Pedro Castillo. In the letter he pointed out the irrevocable nature of his resignation, which he said is motivated by personal matters and thanked the military high command and the military and civilian personnel of the Defense sector for the support provided during his brief tenure.

With the surprise resignation of Barragán to the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, the Peruvian Government is obliged to appoint a sixth minister for the sector in less than a year and a half of management, for a grand total of 81 appointments of ministers so far in the questioned stay of Pedro Castillo in the Presidency of Peru.
