According to Defense24, on July 17, 2023, in a move to bolster its military capabilities, Poland is set to acquire a fleet of upgraded Rosomak-L armored personnel carriers (APCs). A contract is expected to be signed by the Polish government before the end of 2023, ensuring the delivery of 250 to 400 units of the improved Rosomak APCs to the country’s armed forces.
Although this information has not been officially confirmed yet, Defense24’s sources suggest that the Polish Armed Forces are interested in obtaining the extended version (L – long) of the Rosomak APCs. The new L variant features a lengthened body by 60 cm compared to the standard Rosomak model, which measures 7.8 meters in length, 2.8 meters in width, and 2.3 meters in height.
The KTO Rosomak is a wheeled armored vehicle, designed to be an all-terrain troop transport capable of adapting to various missions. It was developed jointly by Finland and Poland and is currently in service in the Polish army. The vehicle can accommodate a crew of three, including the commander, driver, gunner, and eight passengers.
