Russia’s arms trade totaled $15.6 bln in 2020, Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov said: “Last year was difficult, but we ensured timely deliveries and even a little more than in 2019. [In 2020] the supplies in the framework of military and technical cooperation totaled $15.6 billion,” he said at Army-2021 forum.
Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov noted that Russia ranks second in the world in the export of military products and the pandemic did not become an excuse for failing the arms procurement order. The share of civilian products at the enterprises of the defense industry amounted to 25.6%, he said. In turn, First Deputy General Director of Rostec Corporation Vladimir Artyakov said that in 2020 the corporation implemented the arms procurement order 99.5%. Sales of civilian products accounted for more than a third of Rostec’s revenues. Manturov called on Russian defense enterprises to take part in the development of solutions to ensure the biosafety of the Russian Federation.
