The Russian army has captured a Swedish CV90 APC delivered to Ukraine. The Swedish CV9040C IFV that was captured by Russian forces near the front line in Carmina a few days ago, was put on a military truck and headed towards Moscow.
“This appears to be the first piece of modern Western armor captured by Russia and will likely be used for research purposes,” writes sentdefender.
RIA Novosti, a Russian state media outlet, published photographs showing the Swedish CV9040C IFV equipped with a 40 mm Boppers cannon and the “Barracuda” camouflage kit. The soldiers claim that the APC was hit by an RPG, resulting in the death of the commander and the escape of the rest of the crew.
