Spain; Army to phase out 650 M113 APCs

The Spanish Army has launched a plan to reduce its veteran fleet of M113 TOA (Armored Track Transport) that contemplates the withdrawal of more than half of the vehicles in service, going from the 1,250 platforms currently operational to about 600. With this plan, the Army seeks to adapt to the recent changes in its organization within the framework of the Force 2035 project. Within the low-lying process, the Army has determined that the logistics support groups of the Logistics Brigade are the units of concentration of this material to prepare the vehicles for the next stage, their entry into the Park and Maintenance Center of Armored Systems number 2(Pcmasa 2),located in Segovia. The Aalog 11, for example, has already received the first units from the 6th Savoy Infantry Regiment.
