Turkish authorities have announced a bidding process for the purchase of three new frigates that, according to the Turkish Defense Industries Presidency (SSB),will have a higher domestic manufacturing rate than previous vessels in its Milgem program. Thus, according to the head of the SSB, Ismail Demir,the country continues in its goal of achieving a “totally independent” defense industry. The companies that will be eligible for this contest must have a shipyard in the country or cooperate with one.
