According to information published by the “Tactical Report” website on September 16, 2022, United Arab Emirates (UAE) is in talks with Türkiye (Turkey) to acquire 120 Bayraktar TB2 unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAVs).
For several years, Turkey has strengthened its diplomatic relations with the UAE with contracts signed in the defense field including the manufacture of Turkish armored vehicles in the UAE. On 24 November 2021, the UAE’s de-facto leader Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan’s visited Turkey.
The Turkish drone Bayraktar TB2 has become an icon of Ukrainian resistance against the invasion of the country by the Russian army. The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense claims that dozen Russian tanks and armored vehicles have been destroyed by the Turkish-made Bayraktar TB2 drone.
