Ukraine; Army will receive six more PzH-2000 155mm SP Howitzers from Germany & Netherlands

According to information published on the “Germany at NATO” Twitter account on June 28, 2022, the German Defense Minister Lambrechts has announced that Germany in collaboration with the Netherlands will supply Ukraine with six additional PzH 2000 155mm tracked self-propelled howitzers.

On June 27, 2022, the Army Recognition team reported that the German-made PzH 2000 155mm tracked self-propelled howitzers are now deployed in Ukraine with the Ukrainian army and are ready to fight Russian troops.

In May 2022, the Army Recognition editorial team reported that Netherlands and Germany approved the delivery of 12 PzH 2000, 155mm tracked self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine. The Netherlands has provided five examples to Ukraine while Germany has supplied seven.

The PzH 2000 is German-made 155mm self-propelled howitzer and is considered a state-of-the-art artillery system. It provides artillery units and a Rapid Reaction Force with the best mix of firepower, mobility, and protection. Production of the PzH 2000 artillery system for the German Army started at the Krauss-Maffei Wegmann facility in Kassel in the second half of 1997. The German Army was the first army in the world to deploy a 155 mm/52 caliber self-propelled artillery system.
