Ukraine; Benelux nations to refurbish & deliver M113 APCs to the army

According to a joint statement published on July 18, 2023, the Defense Ministers of Belgium, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands have pledged their ongoing commitment to Ukraine amidst ongoing conflict with Russia. As part of a new initiative, these Benelux countries will refurbish  M113 Armored Personnel Carriers (APCs) from industrial stocks for delivery to Ukraine.

The M113 APCs, a tracked vehicle renowned for its utility in combat situations and employed by several foreign countries, will be dispatched in the coming months. Notably, these vehicles are outfitted with a remotely operated weapon system and mounts for 7.62mm or 12.7mm machine guns. The package will also include an assortment of essential spare parts.

Designed to transport soldiers effectively across the battlefield, these M113 APCs offer a sustainable solution to the pressing demand of the Ukrainian armed forces for bolstered armored capabilities.
