The Czech Republic has provided Ukraine with armored vehicles and tanks as the latter continues to receive military equipment from the West.
The Nato-member has sent T-72 tanks and BVP-1 infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine, Reuters reported quoting a Czech defence source. The source declined to provide other details due to security reasons.
The military aid was first reported by public broadcaster Czech Television. It shared footage of a train carrying five tanks and five fighting vehicles.
Meanwhile, Czech Minister of Defence Jana Cernochova told parliament that the country is supplying weaponry to Ukraine.
She was quoted by the news agency as saying: “I will only assure you that the Czech Republic … is helping Ukraine as much as it can and will continue to help by (supplying) military equipment, both light and heavy.”
Ukraine has been receiving military aid from several nations and Nato members.
Since the conflict began, the Czech Republic has sent nearly $45m worth of military aid to the country.
