According to information released by the InfoDefensa website on October 12, 2020, the Uruguayan Army has begun the modernization program to upgrade its Condor UR-425 4×4 armored vehicles.
Currently, 54 Condor UR-425 are in service with the Uruguayan Army. The vehicle was designed by the German Company Thyssen-Henschel of Germany and manufactured by Henschel Wehrtechnik GmbH. It is a successor to the UR-416 wheeled 4×4 APC (Armored Personnel Carrier).
