The Venezuelan Army reincorporated 48 launch pads of the IMI Systems Mapats 2 missile anti-tank system and 150 repowered missiles, after undergoing a functional recovery process. The launchers have been placed on Emsoven Tiuna 4×4 tactical vehicles.
The delivery is part of the program of the central commemorative act of the 201st anniversary of the Battle of Carabobo and Army Day, which was headed by the Minister of People’s Power for defense, General in Chief (Army) Vladimir Padrino López.
The system’s missile launcher (Man-Portable Anti-Tank Systems 2) is supported by a tripod which is placed on the ground or on a tactical vehicle.
The missile, in its original configuration, has a HEAT (High Explosive Anti Tank) warhead and is guided by a laser system, with its maximum range of 5,000 meters and its penetration capacity of 800 mm.
